The Lion & The Mouse

There once was a lion, tired from a long day of chasing prey. He snoozed under a shade tree, snoring loudly. Some mice scrambled over him while he slept and one of their little feet tickled his nose and awoke him from his slumber. Instinctively, he swatted his paw and pinned the little mouse to the ground, nearly crushing him. The little mouse begged to be let go and the lion, recognizing the mouse meant no harm, let him go. "Thank you" squeaked the mouse "you won't regret this!" as he scampered off.

Some time later, the lion was walking through the woods when he got himself caught in a net laid by some poachers. Unable to free himself, he shook the surrounding trees with his angry roars. Moments later, that same little mouse from before emerged. Without hesitation, he began to gnaw through the ropes until the lion was free. As quickly as he emerged, he disappeared into the thick of the brush. Moral of the Story: A good deed deserves one in kind.
