Foreword

The powerful nature of fables is such that they’re written in a way that we see ourselves in the characters from the stories.  When we’re honest with ourselves, we oftentimes find ourselves relating to all of the characters, not just one, by using perspective and personal, real stories granting us this fluidity.

As I start on this journey to unpack the entire series, I determined this particular fable an obvious choice for my starting place for my new endeavor.  Nearly everyone knows about the Tortoise and the Hare, even folks who are completely unaware that it's one of Aesop’s Fables.  The cliché slow and steady wins the race, is such a time-tested and relevant piece of wisdom, but it still holds relevant today.  Since I’m at the beginning of this journey, I certainly hope to embody the Tortoise's focus, determination, and willpower if I ever hope to reach the finish line and complete an assessment of every single one of the Aesop’s fables from the collection.  This series is targeted for folks who, like myself, have found their normal lives disrupted over the past few years and discovering the world is a much bigger and more connected place than ever. This new territory comes with opportunities, but also uncertainty and even danger at every turn. Take a few minutes each week and set them aside to use this as a reflection. Take the conversation to the next level on X.
